Januray 25, 2016

Hello everyone!! I hope you all had a spectacular week! This week for
us was very good! We are still working like crazy and have found some
amazing people to teach! It is super hard getting people to come to
church so we have been a little bit more direct on the invitations to
go to church! Some of the people are willing to come, but when Sunday
comes around they are too lazy to actually go! We are trying to find
different ways to get people to come and also know the importance
of going to church. We hear a lot of people say that they themselves
are the church and they just get confused with the scripture that says
your body is a temple. We taught a family this week who said they were
invited to go to church by this member family who we didn’t know of. We
ended up finding this family on Saturday and the lady hadn’t been to
church in like 2 years and we invited her and she came on Sunday with
her mom! We are trying to work now with part member families and
trying to get them to realize the importance of having the whole
family part of the church and the importance of going to the temple!
We did divisions for the first time in our area with the zone leaders
in Posadas and it was amazing to be able to work in our own area and
have them see some of the people we are working with! I think that
they left more excited to go back in their areas and work hard! We
destroyed our area and had like 10 lessons planned for each of us
haha! This week there are transfers too and I will be staying! I might
have one more as an assistant or ill die here! I can’t believe how fast
time goes! I have 12 weeks left! We will have 13 missionaries come in
this week and we are going to do things differently! We are going to
split up and have them go to different areas and get the real
experience of working and teaching!!! My comp and I will have one new
missionary each in our area and we are going to help them be
comfortable and really enjoy the mission like they should! This past
Sunday I gave a talk and I spoke on the things that helped me
strengthen my testimony! It was weird speaking in front of over 100
people hahaha it is giving me a taste of what will happen when I get
home lol! The members here are awesome! We have lunch everyday with
them and they are just super nice to us! My comp and I have been
trying to eat well and stay fit lol but it seems harder and harder to
eat healthy with all the cookies and sweet things that are here lol!
It has been a fun time here in Jardin and we are working our hardest
to find the people that God has planned for us to teach! One thing I
learned this week is that we are not the teachers, but the Spirit is
the one who teaches and who testifies of the words we say, which
touches the person and helps them be converted. It is their choice to
accept or not and it is our duty to help them recognize the spirit
when it comes! I love you all please have a spectacular week!!!!!!!!

This was an amazing week here on the mission!! I think this was the
hardest I have ever worked with my companion!! We contacted everyone
we saw and we had some amazing lessons with some great people!
Hopefully within the next couple weeks we will have a baptism! We
found this one family Martinez and they have a ton of questions about
the church and they said they were going to go to church but they
didn’t end up making it:( we have had a great attitude and I think that
the people in our area are seeing the happiness that we bring because
we smile and say hi to everyone! We also offer service to everyone we
see too!! I don’t have that much time to write this week but the lord
has been helping us here in our area and we are very grateful for the
things that we are seeing here. I love this place and there are a ton
of great members who are willing to help us out! I love everyone soooo
much and I hope everyone has a spectacular week!!! I LOVE YOU

January 11 2016

This was an amazing week here in Jardín!! We had some amazing lessons
and we have contacted more these past couple days than i have
contacted in my whole mission but i love it!! We really do talk to
everyone and have some great conversations in the streets! Gotta say
that it is really hard to enter into a house so we try to teach
something small outside and try to set a time to come by again next
time. I will share one experience where we visited a less active
member and we talked to him a lot about his mission and the people
that he knew and served. We shared Alma 17:2-3 when alma was reunited
with the sons of Mosiah and he saw that they had done a lot of fasting
and praying and how they had the spirit of prophesy and taught with the
power of God. We asked him how he would feel going back to his mission
and seeing the people he had taught and asking him if he would want
that they were still strong in the church and of course he said yes!
We both shared our testimonies about the importance of church and also
getting through the challenges that Life puts in front of us. I like
the example where we need to picture someone who is sewing something
and from their point of view, they can tell what the object will be
and it looks good. If we were to look at the thing that is being sewed
from the bottom it would look ugly because all we are able to see is
the strings. God is the sewer and he is looking down and making the
object {us} and he knows how beautiful it is. So whenever we are going
through trials we always need to think of God and how he is molding us
or "sewing us" into something that is just beautiful! The less active
and his wife came to church on Sunday and they are super happy!!! we
have now our calendar for lunches this week so we will start to know
where the members live hahah!! it has been a humbling experience to be
here in Jardín and I am super excited to be here and be with my comp
he is awesome!!! I am learning more and more everyday and also trying
to help as many people as possible here in our area. We feel that
within the next few weeks we should start to see some great progress
and hopefully have some baptisms coming up! The Lord has been blessing
us and we definitely can feel that! Sometimes we are in the lessons
and we just look at each other and we just know that God wanted us to
be there. I have been humbled by the calling I have had for the past 8
months and i have loved the opportunity to serve other missionaries! i
am not sure if i will still be an assistant this next transfer but it
truly has been awesome! I love you all and I hope you have the best
week of your lives!! Read the scriptures they will bless your life!
The scripture Alma 26:26-27 came up a lot this week so please take a
minute to read it and ponder it! I LOVE ALL OF YOU!!
